General Position Summary

The Conference and Services Audio/Visual Group (A/V Group) is responsible for providing technical planning, coordination, and support for all PJM multimedia events. These events include large conferences/symposiums, training sessions, various stakeholder meetings, as well as a variety of daily business meetings between PJM staff, stakeholders, and governmental agencies. The A/V Group also manages all technical equipment installed at PJM’s campus including the daily operation and support of a state-of-the-art corporate conference center.
As a member of the A/V Group, the (Sr.) Audio Visual Services Analyst is responsible for supporting all PJM internal and external events that require technical assistance. Daily support activities include a variety of technical tasks such as configuring, operating, and trouble-shooting integrated A/V systems, a variety of projectors/displays, microphones, various sound equipment, computer systems, internet-based collaboration software tools, computer networking settings, and video conferencing systems.
Current technologies supported by the A/V Group include:
• WebEx meeting collaboration software
• Polycom video conferencing systems
• Teleconferencing systems
• Video switching, recording, editing, and broadcasting systems
• SMART Boards
• Crestron video switching and control systems
• Wired and wireless microphones
• Variety of digital and analog sound boards and equipment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical support for PJM’s Conference and Training Center, other corporate conference rooms, and certain offsite events
  • Setup and operation of various video and audio equipment
  • Installation of hardware and software
  • Diagnosis and resolution of hardware, operating system, and software problems
  • Production support of multimedia events (streaming audio and video)
  • Create recordings of multimedia events
  • Edit audio and video clips for publishing (DVDs, streaming video server, etc.)
  • Create and support meetings using WebEx collaboration software
  • Maintain Microsoft Windows images of multimedia computers.
  • Assist with other A/V Group projects and tasks related to the support of the PJM multimedia environment
  • Participate in PJM projects and initiatives which integrate with the PJM A/V functions
  • Develop and maintain documentation on the configuration and settings used with PJM AV equipment
  • Build and develop strong relationships by providing superior customer support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems; being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines; and generally promoting goodwill in a professional and trust-building manner
  • Occasional moving and lifting of equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown
  • Occasional driving is required to provide support to remote meetings (personal vehicle and/or company vehicle with equipment)
  • Position, at times, requires some flexibility in daily scheduling

Characteristics and Qualifications

Required

  • BS degree or equivalent work experience audio/visual disciplines/Multi-Media and Broadcast
  • At least 4 years of experience
  • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Experience using verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
  • Experience assessing and evaluating new products, services and tools for large meeting support; including but not limited to: A/V equipment, sound equipment, meeting support tools/equipment, voting systems, and vendors 
  • Experience operating a variety of current A/V technologies
  • Experience using hardware and software offerings for optimization of A/V services


Preferred

  • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
  • Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
