  • General Position Summary

    The (Sr.) Analyst/Engineer, Market Settlements Development position supports the development and implementation of PJM’s market initiatives including new markets, quality assurance, SOC 1 audit and the market settlements calculation and reporting systems. While the position indicates specifically the Finance Division, duties include any area of need in the PJM organization.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support the design and development of the market settlements calculation and reporting systems through various projects. This includes proactively working with other departments to plan, develop, and implement new PJM markets or changes to existing PJM business rules.
    • Test software programs for validity of results, accuracy, reliability and conformance to design specifications. Assist in development and communication of effective strategies that support continual evolution of efficient PJM settlement systems and processes in compliance with the PJM agreements and SOC 1 audit.
    • Coordinate and perform settlement and market operations data analysis and system control objectives testing to support SOC 1 audit.
    • Review and assess quality of PJM processes in place to support requirements in PJM agreements and PJM Manuals. Work with various functional areas to document and maintain accurate PJM Manuals, settlement configuration documents and training documentsmaterials.
    • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure clarity and interpretation of Agreements, Manuals and all PJM formal documents.
    • Perform data analyses and reporting to support regulatory, customer, and internal information requests.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement within existing and proposed business functions and tools.
    • Support PJM customers, committees and internal functions involving emerging issues.

    Characteristics and Qualifications

    Required

    • BS, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Business or equivalent work experience
    • 0-5 years of experience Experience testing software changes and documenting results
    • Experience navigating relational databases
    • Experience in writing technical documentation
    • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
    • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
    • Experience using verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)


    Preferred

    • MBA, Business Administration
    • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
    • Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
    • Experience and desire to make presentations to PJM stakeholders
