  • General Position Summary

    The Sr. Analyst has dual responsibilities for providing direction and oversight to effectively manage and maintain the PJM controlled documents (manuals, policies, procedures and standards) as well as drive projects and activities related to the administration of PJM’s editing tool for manuals; Cera, PJM’s enterprise content management system; and other approved repositories of unstructured data. This role will provide support for the data gathering, dissemination and implementation of new features and functions that drive operational efficiency while ensuring PJM policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.  Additional responsibilities include providing recommendations for improvements and driving efficiencies through optimization and automation of business owned systems.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsibilities specific to Controlled Documents (manuals, policies, procedures and standards):
    • Responsible for ensuring oversight of manual owners, authors, SMEs and others to follow processes and implement timely revisions to manuals as identified either as part of the stakeholder process or general business practice utilizing PJM’s editing/publication tool
    • Perform as subject matter expert for the manual editing tool and manuals process; act as liaison between users and PJM technical and vendor support to resolve problems and identify opportunities for new functionality
    • Prepare comprehensive communication plans for new and existing functionality as needed; plans may include but are not limited to developing and delivering training materials, user guides and instructional videos.
    • Work closely with ITS and Security to ensure efficient and accurate updating and retention of NERC CIP policies, procedures and standards.
    • Identify opportunities for improvements and automation of processes associated with best practices of controlled documents management.
    • Provide daily oversight and direction to department contractor to identify, prioritize, implement and resolve issues including:
    • ·        Timely and efficient processing of all PJM controlled documents to ensure deadlines are met.
    • ·        Maintenance of the Controlled Documents on PJM Wired and Manuals on pjm.com.
    • ·        Working with manual owners and authors to make manual revisions utilizing the PJM editing tool.
    • ·        Preparing management reports as needed
    • Responsibilities specific to the administration of Cera, PJM’s enterprise content management system and other unstructured repositories:
    • Manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities.  Use effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
    • Work closely with the Cera Support team as well as internal departments and functions to identify requirements, challenges, concerns, issues and expectations related to the use of Cera.
    • Coordinate efforts of stakeholders and subject matter expert (SMEs) teams with the goal of driving both business and technical improvements to departmental systems and applications.
    • Schedule and coordinate project and maintenance activities within the department or project team

    • Other duties:
    • ·        Coordinate, correspond and communicate with PJM leadership team on an individual and/or collective basis as needed
    • ·        Support and respond to inquiries from internal customers in an expeditious manner
    • ·        Partner and build rapport with PJM employees at all levels of the organization to support and monitor specific activities of the function.

    Characteristics and Qualifications

    Required:

    • BS degree in Business Administration or 5 years equivelent work experience
    • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
    • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
    • Experience using verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
    • Ability to visualize and solve complex problems that proactively address customer needs and requirements with innovative, creative, and cost-effective solutions
    • Maintain in depth knowledge of the current business processes/tools.
    • Knowledge of PJM’s mission, structure, vision, values, operating principles, and organizational ethics.

     

    Preferred:

    • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
    • Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
    • Experience with the PJM / ITS processes for account management, release / change management, and procurement
    • Experience with the content in PJM Manuals
    • Experience with PJM portfolio management processes
    • Experience with PJM’s internal systems, processes, and methodologies relative to NERC CIP
