  • General Position Summary

    Lead activities for the Corporate Client Services division under the direction of the Manager, CCS Portf & Project Mgmt. The role will partner with client groups to manage requirements and priorities on project initiatives and plans to meet PJM’s business priorities. Provide direction and guidance to develop and implement business and technology strategies to best address organizational issues.
    Sr. Project Specialist role is to ensure products, and tools are developed, operated, and maintained in a reliable and secure manner.

    In support of PJM’s Vision and Mission, the Sr. Project Specialist will work with the manager and develop, communicate and implement effective strategies that support short, mid- and long-term growth objectives that affect the continual development of PJM’s operations. The Sr. Project Specialist will keep pace with the demands of a rapidly growing business, anticipate problems and synthesize appropriate solutions, and provide the technical leadership necessary to effectively implement these initiatives.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Scoping of assigned projects that include the integration of cross-functional tools to resolve complex scenarios
    • Participate in developing As-is and To-be process documentation including gap analysis of changes and business use cases
    • Participates in the analysis and development of documentation, projects, and emerging technology to improve steady growth at PJM.
    • Evaluates project progress that may span multiple functional areas.
    • Develops, forecasts, and manages capital budgets associated with assigned projects
    • Build and develop strong relationships with business area clients throughout PJM by providing superior customer support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems; being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines; and generally promoting goodwill in a professional and trust-building manner.
    • Manage project team resources to ensure effective project teams.
    • Obtain in depth knowledge of the current business processes/tools.
    • Strong command of organizational effectiveness and working with cross-functional teams.
    • Experience in supporting diverse business lines.
    • Work closely with the end users, business technologists, and others to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs.
    • Review project proposals or plans to help determine time frame and procedures for accomplishing goals.
    • Prepare status reports for business owners and management using Microsoft Office suite of products.
    • Analyze and manage project risk.
    • Collect and analyze feedback and lessons learned documentation.
    • Produce and implement a timely communications strategy that will effectively meet Stakeholders’ information needs. Manage delivery logistics to project Stakeholders.
    • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills and a proven track record of applying organizational effectiveness and development skills to improve business efficiencies.
    • Proven success in managing cross functional agile teams.
    • Applies knowledge, skills and abilities to implement a process or procedure, timely and professionally.
    • Manage change effectively, with a long-term, big-picture lens.
    • Participates in audits by outside regulators as required.

    Characteristics and Qualifications


    • BS, Business Administration, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
    • At least 4 years of experience project management and analysis
    • At least 4 years of experience managing medium to large scale projects
    • At least 4 years of experience identity management practices, focusing on access management and governance
    • At least 4 years of experience regulatory compliance or implementing an Identity Management Solution
    • At least 4 years of experience Requirements gathering and data Mapping
    • At least 4 years of experience Identity management practices, focusing on access management and governance
    • At least 4 years of experience Working with fast-paced agile teams
    • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
    • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
    • Experience using verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
    • Ability to operate in a confidential and controlled environment


    • MBA, Business Administration
    • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
    • Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
