  • General Position Summary

    As a (Sr.) Infrastructure Support Storage Analyst, you will be responsible for leading and participating in the maintenance, architecture and design of the storage infrastructure within PJM's enterprise. You will be working closely with the various departments’ teams to develop and improve the continuous delivery process. You will also be part of team managing and supporting mutliple storage platforms in a 24x7 enterprise.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Drive and/or support storage strategies, architecture discussions, and preventative maintenance plans in support of the enterprise storage strategy
    • Daily maintenance of Brocade SAN: director-level switches, bladecenter switches, virtual fabrics, fiber channel routing, access gateway mode.
    • Participate in the Identification and remediation of vulnerabilities for the SAN and Storage infrastructure
    • Evaluate and provision storage requests utlizing best practices for both Fibre Channels LUNS and Network Shares for optimal performance
    • Monitor and respond to system performance and resource utilization alerts
    • Coordinate communication to various customers and stakeholders on routine maintenance and environment issues
    • Develop and maintain platform documentation and appropriate procedures
    • Provide technical analysis and/or assistance in troubleshooting issues and identifying causes.
    • Work with vendors and/or consulting parties to ensure optimal setup and configuration of storage environments and that appropriate support expectations are in place.
    • Create and maintain storage-related operational policies and standards.
    • Comply with the approved standards, policies, and procedures within the culture of compliance that has been established
    • Collaborate with the Enterprise Storage and Architecture teams for capacity planning and key architectural decisions
    • Perform and/or coordinate the migration of data between various storage units.
    • Perform administration of advanced storage features such as: tiering, flashcopy, thin provisioning, etc.
    • Coordinate with backup administrators to ensure system resilience and recoverability for the enterprise storage environment.
    • Perform work to support the Capacity and Performance Management in an enterprise environment.
    • Perform routine maintenance of storage controllers such as: disk replacement, firmware upgrades, OS upgrades etc.
    • This position does require to be On-Call – 24x7.

    Characteristics and Qualifications

    Required

    • BS, Computer Engineering or Computer Science 
    • At least 5 years of experience SAN and Storage technology
    • At least 5 years of experience SAN and Storage technology
    • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
    • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
    • Experience using verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
    • Experience with implementation of various backup and recovery solutions and use of common enterprise class storage technologies including NetApp and IBM DS storage
    • Ability to use System Administration skills for AIX platforms This includes operating system installation, configuration, and maintenance


    Preferred

    • MS, Computer Engineering
    • MS, Computer Science
    • At least 5 years of experience
    • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
    • Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
