  • General Position Summary

    PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission organization (RTO) that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of thirteen states and the District of Columbia.

    Our mission is to be the electric industry leader—today and tomorrow—in reliable operations and efficient wholesale markets.


    During your internship at PJM you will learn how affordable, reliable and sustainable power is ensured through efficient administration of an independent and transparent wholesale energy market. You will experience the collaboration of different divisions within PJM and how they all work together to create a working company that remains cutting edge as well as energy and cost efficient. You will leave with newfound knowledge of PJM and what it takes to be the electric industry leader, today and tomorrow.


    As a fast paced, technology based, innovative company, we are looking for a hard-working intern who feels they have a unique perspective and who is eager to contribute to our program as well as learn something new during their internship here.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • A strong engineering coursework background
    • An ability to communicate (written and verbal)
    • An ability to visualize and solve complex problems
    • Strong analytical skills as well as being able to work closely with peers in a teamwork environment
    • An engineering course work study as well as a power systems coursework study/interest along with strong computer skills
    • Support projects for engineers on site

    • Pursing a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

    • Familiar with power systems
